I was looking over the Well and Good online magazine when I found this fantastic article including a new sort of food pyramid- the anti inflammatory pyramid! Read more to find out what it is all about:
The pyramid consists of the most beneficial foods at the bottom and the not-so great ones at the top!
The base of the pyramid-Leafy greens and healthy fats
This includes leafy greens, veggies, salmon, walnuts, garlic, turmeric and fermented foods.
The second level- Produce that pulls double duty
The second tier includes beets, ginger, flax and blueberries.
The third level- NO nightshades
This level is about limiting nightshades- tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and potatoes.
The top of the pyramid: The nasties
At the top of the food pyramid are wheat, dairy, sugar, corn, soy, and peanuts. Avoid at all costs!
